Composer Daniel C Pappas writes music in varying styles ranging from Orchestral to Chamber, Solo, and Electro-Acoustic. Daniel’s music has been featured on several new music festivals including, the BGSU New Music Festival, the annual UNCG New Music Festival, the Cape Fear New Music Festival at Methodist University, and xMUSE at the University of South Carolina. Performances of his works have also taken place at both regional and national College Music Society conferences as well as performances at IDRS and ICA in 2021. Pappas frequently collaborates with orchestras in Germany where he first studied music.
Pappas holds degrees from Grace College and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he studied composition with Mark Engebretson. Daniel completed his doctorate degree in composition at the University of South Carolina, where he studied with John Fitz Rogers and Reginald Bain. Pappas has also had the opportunity to be coached by renowned composers Paul Lanksy, Jacob ter Veldhuis, and Libby Larsen to name a few. His pre-college composition teacher is the Schott published German composer Henning Brauel.
